“Eye on Malaysia” is certified safe.

KUALA LUMPUR, Fri: The “Eye on Malaysia”, our country’s first and the largest viewing wheel in South East Asia has been certified for safety and quality.

The Technical Inspection Authority of Germany (TUV Nord) had been conducting rigorous tests on the “Eye on Malaysia” to ensure compliance with national and international safety standards. “We have conducted all the necessary technical inspection on the “Eye on Malaysia” and is satisfied with our findings,” said Mr. Martin Weniger, Specialist Amusement Rides Inspector of TUV Nord.

The Department of Occupational Safety and Health has also conducted their own inspection of the “Eye on Malaysia” and is satisfied with TUV Nord’s findings. “We are happy to announce that MST Ad Suria has fulfilled and passed all safety requirements according to Malaysian as well as international standards to operate the “Eye on Malaysia,” said Encik Omar bin Mat Piah, the Director of the Department of Occupational Safety and Health.

Among the tests carried out on the wheel were Operational Stop Function, Emergency Stop Function, Overspeed test, Maximum Speed Test, Off-balance/partially loaded Test and Evacuation in case of power failure.

The “Eye on Malaysia” is SEA’s first transportable viewing wheel. It is a part of Visit Malaysia Year 2007.

MST AD Suria Sdn Bhd is the operator for Eye on Malaysia viewing wheel. MST AD Suria is also the producer and organizer of “International WaterSky Spectacular”. They are working together with Ministry of Tourism Visit Malaysia Year Secretariat promoting Visit Malaysia 2007.
